Who are the Consent Kitties?
What do we do?
Meet the Consent Kitties
We’re a visible, approachable presence, trained to observe and check in on vulnerable women, de-escalate situations, and connect folks to resources when needed.
— while actively working to prevent sexual harassment and violence through consent culture and bystander intervention.
We also create safe spaces at festivals and host family-friendly education booths at community events. Our bright pink setup makes learning about consent fun and accessible — with games, resources, conversations, plus candy and stickers!
The Consent Kitties can be found roaming the downtown streets of Nelson, in and around late-night venues, offering care and support for women and LGBTQ+ community members.
Our “Here to Help” team is trained in ethical consent, bystander intervention, and de-escalation, making us a trusted and approachable presence. Together, we’re creating a culture of consent that goes beyond sexual behaviour — one built on respect, body autonomy, and community care.
Nelson Team Consent Society (aka the Consent Kitties ) is a grassroots BC registered non-profit society working to prevent sexualized violence and build safer, more caring communities.
We do this through community outreach and consent education.
